One night after we put the girls to bed we decided to watch a little grown-up television.
“Wanna watch some Paranormal Witness?”
“Sure!”
We were properly frightened. The scary face happened, we both jumped. Luckily we lived through it. But what should be considered more impressive was that we didn’t fall asleep on the couch. Staying awake on the couch equals a high-five. We did it!
There was no way we’d make it through a second one, definitely time for bed. Before we headed upstairs, Annie grabbed the video monitor for the girls. We looked at the black & gray night vision images of our peacefully sleeping daughters and a lump formed in our throats.
Oh my God! There’s a demonic black mass on the screen moving toward Regina! It wants to claim her soul. I had to save her. I was ready to burst into the room and yell, “Leave her alone! Take me instead!” (No! You can’t do that! Every time the Dad in the Paranormal Witness episode says that, things turn really really bad.)
Just as I was about to take a step to go rushing up the stairs (with no plan actually) I peeked at the screen one last time and realized that we were looking at the oscillating fan.
Maybe it’s time to take a break from Paranormal Witness.
