How Sweet It’s NOT!

How Sweet It’s NOT!

Last year Annie and I took the girls to the School Book Fair. We went in there planning on buying two books, knowing we would buy three books. We’re pushovers when it comes to books.
Decisions were made, Annie took them up for checkout. When this happened, Lyd suddenly grew desperate to grab…
Just.
One.
More.
Thing.
She held up a Halloween-Sized package of red licorice. I rolled my eyes, counted to ten, and became weak. “Fine.” I said, “Run it up Mommy before she finishes filling out the check., grab one for me too please. A Twizzler actually sounds pretty good.”
We stepped out into the Hallway, and were stopped for a brief conversation, as that was going on I decided I’d eat that Twizzler. Within seconds of biting into it I marched back into the library.
“Back for more candy?” The lady at checkout asked. I ignored her as I read the smaller print on the package, then I held it up.
“Eraser.” I replied. She gave me an odd look. “It’s a pencil eraser.” I was immediately chased out of the Library by her belly-laugh.
You don’t do crap like this to a sweet-tooth like me.

Yeah, maybe that fine print isn't so fine after all.
